Thanks for stopping by our little piece of cyber space! I love having a place to share little glimpses of our life with family and friends. Be sure to leave a comment to let me know you were here!

Sometimes my baby just cracks me up.

Have you ever tried doing Pilates when you are laughing?  For the record, it's kind of hard.  :)

Our peach harvest has been impressive considering the state of the tree when we moved into our new place.

This weekend we picked a whole bunch of peaches and, with help from my amazing mother, canned some.  We made peach jam and peach cobbler filling.  Yum!

While we were working, little man played.

And tried to take his clothes off.  ;)

A huge shout-out to my mom for all her help. Canning is hard work, and I'm just now beginning to understand what a huge feat it is that she has been canning most of the family garden produce for as long as I can remember (and my dad has always cultivated a huge garden).  You're the best, Mom!

My baby has always been able to pick up a beat and dance along to music.  Now he's started singing too!

It melts my heart every time.  I love him so much!

Last week, little man and I went clothes shopping with my mom and sister.  As little man was playing by the dressing rooms, I realized what a neat photo background they made.  I tried to get my baby to pay attention to me and smile so that I could get a few fun pictures.  He was far too distracted, though, and this was all I could get:

We had a fire on the mountain near our house this weekend.

One of the worst moments of my life was packing a bag just in case we got evacuated and having to think about all the things I might never see again.  Thankfully it never got very big and there was no wind to help it along.  Within 12 hours the firemen had it out.  Kudos to them.

While it was burning though, little man enjoyed watching the helicopters and the airplane the flew overhead to help with the flames.

 Can you spot the plane?

Oh, he also enjoyed playing in the dirt while Mama weeded and getting oh-so-dirty!

Little man and I got to go to the Museum of Ancient Life (aka Dinosaur museum) with friends this week.  It was crazy crowded because they were doing such a good deal for admission, but it was fun all the same.

I taught my little guy a new word while we were there.  Shark.

And little man decided to assert his independence.  Now that he's figuring out this walking thing, he wants to help push the stroller rather than sitting in it.  He was pretty bummed when it got too crowded and I didn't feel comfortable letting him walk on his own anymore.  (And by bummed I mean he screamed like a banshee.)  It's rough being little.  ;)

23.8.12

This week I tried out a new activity for little man.  Playdough!  He loves smashing all his food, so I thought giving him something edible that was okay for smashing would be great!  I found a recipe for peanut butter playdough and tried it out.

Little man discovered pretty quickly that this was a yummy treat.

We had fun eating and playing.  The playdough was a little oily from the peanut butter but it was the perfect consistency and I wasn't worried about my little guy putting it in his mouth.  Once we were done, I stuck it in an airtight container in the fridge.  I'm hoping to pull it out later in the week and play some more!

I'm sorry, I'm not sure why the pig is upside down...and it won't let me fix it!!!

22.8.12

It's been fun having little man's cousin and aunt here. Little man has loved getting to know and play with his cousin. We will miss them.

21.8.12

Little man has been watching his cousin closely and is now becoming a little more daring about standing on his own.  He's even taken a few steps.  Never prompted, and never on camera.  We do try to get them on camera but it never works!  In fact, when we tried to get some recorded steps on Sunday, little man started goofing off.

But on Monday, I kept trying and....
Ta-da!

20.8.12

We had a very busy weekend, but it was so much fun!  My little family, along with my hubby's siblings and their families (minus one brother-in-law who we missed!!!) went to the Jackson Hole Scottish Festival.  I had never been to one before, but my hubby and his family had been going to them for years.

The ride up was long, but the scenery was beautiful.  Little man was a little unsure of his traveling companion at first....

But after a while he adjusted and it was business as usual.  ;)

I'm so glad we got the opportunity to go.  Not only because the festival was fun but because the family time is always so nice!  My hubby and his siblings haven't all been together for over a year.  And little man and his cousin are starting to really play well together!  We'll be sad when they leave in a few days.

17.8.12

Yesterday I wanted to take little man to the splash park.  Unfortunately, they were closed because they had to adjust the chemicals in the water.  I felt so bad, since I'd brought little man out, put him in his swimsuit, let him see the park...and then we get told we have to leave.

Luckily Nana let us come play in her sprinklers.

And after we were dried off, she let little man see her music box collection.

Thanks Nana!

The other day little man was playing on the floor with a golf ball.  He happily chatted to himself, repeating "ball" over and over again.  Then, suddenly, he turned and looked at me with the funniest face.  He crawled over to where I was sitting, with his lips puckered, breathing heavily through his nose.  He looked so funny!  I have no idea why he did it, but I made sure to take pictures.  :)

15.8.12

We had a fun day with little man and his cousin.  They formed a band and will soon be touring in an area near you.  ;)

We also took them for a walk around a portion of the Thanksgiving Point Gardens.  We wanted to take them to the petting zoo there but because of $2 Tuesday, the line was way too long.  It's alright though, they found a dog to pet.  And both boys loved the flowers and the water that we did see.

14.8.12

Little man's cousin is here for a visit. The two haven't seen each other in a year. It's fun to watch them interact.
