I tried to get a video of little man singing "Itsy Bitsy Spider" while he read the book, but when he saw what I was doing he began exclaiming, "it's you!".  This is how he refers to himself.  I guess it's my fault because when he was looking at a photo album I pointed to a picture of him and said, "who is that?"  and when he didn't answer I said, "it's you!".  I guess I should have called him by name, because now he refers to himself as "it's you!".  It sure is cute though.  :)

P.S. He has this new trick...he's discovered how to take his pants off, which is why he's wearing no pants in the video.  Luckily he hasn't learned how to take his diaper off yet!

Dec. 2nd-8th 2012, a set on Flickr.
It's hard to do a daily post when I have to create a photo album for each set of pictures, so I've decided to try just posting once a week.

This week has been fun and crazy. Little man and I got to visit his grandpa lots as I worked through a medical issue that luckily turned out to be nothing as major as it appeared. Little man loves visiting Grandpa and loves playing with the ducks at Grandpa's work. Now every time we get in the car he thinks we are going to see "bup." He has also identified that his grandpa often wears ties so when he saw daddy's tie in the closet the other day, he put it around his neck and announced that he was a "bup". Too cute.

We've been drawing lots and lots of pictures this week. Little man loves to draw. Right now he draws lots of guitars (that's what he tells me each picture is). I think it's because Daddy has pulled out his guitar a few times.

Little man got to meet Santa Clause this weekend. He didn't cry, but he wouldn't talk to Santa either. He did give him a Chinese man grin when we waved good-bye, so that must count for something! And he really appreciated the candy cane that Santa gave him.

We are really enjoying the pretty lights and the Christmas trees we see everywhere. Little man got to walk through all the lights and trees at the Riverwoods this weekend and he insisted that we stop at each one so he could touch it. He was very gentle and whispered "soft" each time. He knows better than to pull on the tree or the lights, he learned that at home!

I am always so impressed with how much my little man picks up on and understands. He has been singing "Jingle Bells" for the past few days. I need to record it, because it's really darling! He is saying new words each day and when he's not throwing a fit he's just so much fun. He makes big messes when he plays but he is always really good to help me clean up around the house; he even helped me mop the floor the other day.

One other fun thing little man is up to is trying to spell his name. One day I put his name on one of his drawings and spelled it out loud as I wrote down each letter. Little man caught on to all the letters and will repeat them as he draws, but rarely in the right order. Still, I think he'll be spelling his own name before we know it! He's just growing up so fast.

Visit to the Aquarium, a set on Flickr.
Last week the Living Planet Aquarium had free admission. Little man, my mom, and I took advantage of that! We had a pretty good time. It was kind of crowded but we beat the rush of after-school kids, so it wasn't as bad as it might have been.  And of course, little man loves any opportunity to see animals or fish!
