I've mentioned it before but little man is a water lover. When we wash his hands, brush his teeth, give him a bath...he gets super excited! If we see water in a fountain or anything else when we are out and about, there will be a great big fit if he doesn't get to see it up close and try to touch it.
So when we wash the car, or water the flowers, little man is always a VERY happy baby.
Thanks for stopping by our little piece of cyber space! I love having a place to share little glimpses of our life with family and friends. Be sure to leave a comment to let me know you were here!

Yesterday was such a fun day for little man (and me too)! We went to a thrift store in search of a replacement piece for one of our kitchen appliances and although we didn't find what we were looking for....we came home with a little bowling ball set!
His aunt came to visit after that and so she helped us set up the bowling set. My baby had no idea how to use it. Every time my sister or I would knock down pins he would say "uh oh!" and pick them up.
He had fun using the pins to sword fight with his aunt though!
Later that day we had a fun play date with friends. At this age the boys don't interact much but they did share snacks, play the piano together, and play a fun game of peek-a-boo!
Little man was super upset when I put him in the car to go home. We had a melt down of epic proportions and he yelled and screamed for most of the drive home. Poor kid, we'll go play again soon!

We had a fun-filled weekend! We started Saturday morning by going to the Chalk the Block Art Festival. There were a lot of amazing artists there! We stopped by a fountain so that little man could play with the water. He is always so excited when he sees water! Hubby even tried to help little man reach the water without standing where he shouldn't. Little man was thrilled. We also got a caramel apple and a few other chocolate goodies. TWe rounded off the trip by going into a Halloween store and trying on fun hats.
Then that evening we went to a bonfire with some family. Little man filled up on enough sugar to last him the next week. He loved pointing out all the stars, and there was even a horse nearby that he got to see close up. I'm so glad my cousin invited us!

I've been sick. Which means that I grab a handful of toys and books and throw them around the living room floor, turn on the Disney Channel, and lay on the couch like an invalid while little man is forced to play by himself. In a strange way, it's been good for him.
When little man's cousin left, little man stopped walking. We tried to encourage him and he would throw himself on the floor every time. So we kind of gave up, knowing that it had to be little man's choice. A few days ago I caught him walking next to the couch, grabbing it every couple of steps but still walking on his own a bit. Then we caught him walking around the living room. It didn't seem like something he was planning to repeat though. And then I got sick....and little man has spent the past two days like this:
I'm so proud of him for finally realizing that he CAN walk by himself! (also, I love that he was dancing to the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme song at the beginning...that's my baby!)

Over the weekend our family went to the 13th Anniversary Fair at an assisted living community. It is to kick off Assisted Living Week. There was food:
a petting zoo:
pony rides:
and games:
We had a blast. Little man's favorite part was the animals. He made friends with a little goat and it was hard to pull him away. He actually cried when we left.

Our family spent Labor Day in Park City where the library had a fantastic book sale. We were given a bag for $5 and we could put as many books as we wanted in it. I got 45 books for myself and little man...that means I spent 11 cents per book! Hubby also got some fun books for himself and we brought my youngest brother along too. He got a whole bunch of books as well. This is something we will definitely be doing for as long as we are in the area.
The drive to and from Park City was beautiful. The fall colors are starting to appear and they are so gorgeous! We stopped for a picnic lunch at a spot in the canyon and loved the scenery there as well.
