Thanks for stopping by our little piece of cyber space! I love having a place to share little glimpses of our life with family and friends. Be sure to leave a comment to let me know you were here!

6.8.12

While I was talking to someone the other day, I mentioned something my little guy had said.  They were surprised and asked, "does he talk much?"  That's when I realized that although I post a lot of cute things my son does, I haven't really kept up-to-date on his vocabulary accomplishments.  For my family and friends who don't see us often, this post is to let you know what my little guy can say.  And if you already know (or don't care) I apologize.

My son says the following phrases:
  • "Go get it"
  • "What is that?"
  • "It's the (insert any word he knows here)"
  • "Good Job"
He also says the following words:
  • Mom
  • Dad
  • Ball
  • Fish
  • Dog
  • Cat
  • Bird
  • Cup (sounds more like "bup")
  • Tree
  • Bush
  • Fruit
  • Light
  • Door
  • No
  • Bye (he also waves)
  • Book
  • Catch
And if you say a word to him, my little man will try to repeat it.  A few of the words he's said because we told him what they were but have never heard since...:
  • Bag (He asked hubby what it was and then a few minutes after receiving his answer, he pointed to it again and told his daddy, "It's the bag".  Smarty pants.)
  • Box
  • Dinosaur
  • Grass
  • Leaf
  • Piano
  • Diaper
  • Truck
  • Spider
  • Nana
  • Grandpa
  • Mount Timpanogos (My dad taught him that one)
  • Computer
There are also a few sounds he imitates on a regular basis:
  • Woof (it started out as just "ffff" but has progressed to a full-blown woof now!)
  • Oink (he doesn't say "oink", he actually makes the snorting oink noise)
  • Mmmm (usually when I'm encouraging him to eat something)
  • Whistle (when hubby whistles, little man attempts to whistle back.  It's super cute.)
My little guy is a chatter-box.  You may not always know what he's saying (okay, most of the time you won't) but he always has something to say!  Sometimes he'll "read" books to himself.  Lately he's started to turn everything into a phone and he will hold it up to his mouth and just chat away.  Here's a video to make the end of this post more exciting (though hopefully it wasn't too boring to learn what my little man is saying):
